Location

The hotel and apartments are in Lo Pagan, which is the sea (i.e. Mar Menor) end of the town San Pedro del Pinatar. See map. They are about 5 mins or so by foot to the beach. Note that the location is not near to the city of Murcia, which is inland and about 35 minutes away by car, but it is quite close to Murcia (San Javier) airport, which is just down the coast.

To get there from Murcia airport by taxi just ask for Barcelo Lodomar hotel in Lo Pagan. It is about 10 mins away. By car take the motorway (autopista)(AP7, formerly A37) in a northerly direction towards Alicante (when you exit the airport you should go straight across a roundabout  and take the second exit at the next roundabout which puts you on the AP7 (A37) going north towards Alicante). Once on the motorway, ignore the first turn off signposted (exit 777) San Pedro del Pinatar, but exit when the next sign appears for San Pedro at Exit 774 (two exits later). At the end of the slip road you emerge onto a roundabout with a ship in the middle. Take the second exit signposted towards the playas (beaches) and Lo Pagan, and keep going straight thereafter (over two more roundabouts) and you will see the hotel on the right (you really can't miss it).

From Alicante airport, take the motorway (A7) south, and keep following signs to Cartagena (i.e., do not take teh motorway towards Alicante, which is the wrong direction). You have to take the fork which takes you onto the AP7 (formerly A37) motorway towards Cartagena after about 15 minutes (right hand branch). Get off when you see the sign for San Pedro del Pinatar, which takes you onto the ship roundabout, see above. You pass through two toll booths, which cost 1.55€ each or round about double in the summer. (The irony of this is that these are the only two tolls on a huge section of the motorway travelling south from Alicante along the coast, and they coincide with the just about the most congested stretch of road in Spain, the N332 south of Torrevieja--listen to any travel bulletin in the summer--cleverly discouraging people from using the parallel empty motorway but instead adding to the congestion. This is a sort of opposite congestion charge.) A taxi ride will cost you up to 70€. Alternatively, you can take the N332 towards Cartagena along the coast (turn off towards Santa Pola not long after leaving the airport otherwise you will end up going North on the N332 to Alicante town). If you avoid traffic jams (see above) it will only take about 10 minutes more, and will save you over 5€ in the summer.
